TOOL - No Guest Musicians On New Album
|
|
According to a posting on Toolband.com, TOOL's first CD since 2001's "Lateralus",
which is tentatively scheduled for release in late April or early May, will
not feature any guest musicians, despite widespread rumors to the contrary.
"Although I suggested to the band members that it might be interesting to
attempt to get someone from the other side (i.e. someone deceased) to play
on the CD, this didn't happen (that we're aware of, at least) due, for the
most part, to contractual disputes (mainly on their end, it's sad to say),"
reads the message on the site. "In fact, oddly enough, the ONLY muscians
performing on the new TOOL record are the four members of the band, namely,
Danny, Justin, Adam and Maynard. Go figure!" Photos taken during the recording
of the LP, which were posted on guitarist Adam Jones' online blog, showed
that QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's Josh Homme, MELVINS guitarist King Buzzo
and ISIS frontman Aaron Turner had stopped into the studio during the sessions.
As previously reported, TOOL have lined up more European gigs this summer,
including appearances at the Nova Rock festival in Austria and the Rock
Werchter festival in Belgium. The group's schedule is now shaping up as
follows:
TOOL's brand-new album was mastered on Tuesday, January 31 at Gateway Mastering
Studios in Portland, Maine by Bob Ludwig. The members of the band were present
during the mastering, according to a posting on Toolband.com.
