EDGUY - 'Hellfire Club' Bonus Track To feature KREATOR Frontman
|
|
EDGUY singer Tobias Sammet has posted the following message regarding the
bonus tracks on the band's upcoming album, "Hellfire Club", due on March
15 through Nuclear Blast Records:
"The first pressing of the 'Hellfire Club' album will contain two additional
songs: no crappy tracks of course, but just real good stuff. One of the
bonus tracks is going to be 'Children of Steel' (version 2003). Originally
it had been on our second demo tape of 1994, and we decided to re-arrange
and re-record it because of the following reasons: First of all it is a
proof, that we played this kind of music with all consequences without compromises
even when it was totally unfashionable to be a metalhead! Fuck it! When
people were laughing about this kind of music and when nobody believed in
it we did  we were the Children of Steel! It was way before the huge
renaissance of 'true' metal. The second reason to redo the song is that
we just thought the basics of the song had enormous potential, and with
this new version we certainly proved it. It's a song that is just a bonus
track for us, but that would certainly have been a highlight on many other
metal albums these days, and I'd go so far that I think it would have even
been a classic on any of the latest five IRON MAIDEN albums.
"The second bonus track is another version of 'Mysteria', featuring KREATOR
vocalist Mille Petrozza on vocals together with me. It was great fun, KREATOR
are friends and this performance shows, that different kinds of metal do
not necessarily have to fight each other but can get along pretty well.
It also shows that the song does great as a 100% thrash metal rocket too.
It was actually planned to be the only version of the song, but because
of some business things and the fact that it should have been the opener
of the album we decided on doing a second version with me on the vocals
which ended up to be the original album version and opening track."
