	DREAM THEATER - MIKE PORTNOY Clarifies Reasons For Shutting Down Message Board
	DREAM THEATER drummer Mike Portnoy has clarified his reasons for shutting down the DreamTheater.net and MikePortnoy.com forums and replacing the link to the Bulletin Board on both sites with a countdown clock to 12:00 a.m. June 7, 2005, the release date of the new DREAM THEATER CD, "Octavarium". Although Portnoy was initially believed to have shut down the message boards due to the Internet leak of "Octavarium", Mike says that this is not exactly the case. Writing on the Gigantour forum, Portnoy stated, " just wanted to post that I am alive and well since I pulled the plug on the DT and MP forums for the week..... "This was not done out of anger or spite (although the repeated requests to refrain from spoilers and links for the new album against the band's wishes were frustrating...) "I chose to do this MAINLY to build anticipation for the big 'official' unveiling next week... "I know this leaves many of us 'homeless' for a week (including myself) , but maybe we can all spend a final week tending to our lives and families before 'Octavarium' takes over all of our lives starting next week! "The lights will be turned back on when the clock strikes zero and I look foward to hearing all of your thoughts then..."
