SLAYER - Next Studio Album To Land On INTERSCOPE?
|
|
Rick Rubin's American Recordings label  home to veteran Los Angeles thrashers
SLAYER  is making the move from Island Def Jam to the Interscope side,
according to Hits Daily Double.
SLAYER had previously announced that they were putting the recording sessions
for their new album on hold while Rubin began negotiating a new deal with
Universal Music Group (Island Def Jam's parent company). Rubin has worked
with SLAYER since he produced the band's 1986 thrash classic "Reign in Blood",
and his status could greatly affect the level of support American gives
any new album.
"The minute (Rubin) gets that situated we'll continue the process of finishing
the music," SLAYER frontman Tom Araya told The News Tribune last month.
SLAYER's upcoming DVD, "Reign in Blood Live: Still Reigning", is scheduled
for release on September 28. The disc will feature a full performance of
the "Reign in Blood" album by all original members of the veteran thrash
metal outfit. The DVD, recorded on July 11 in Augusta, Maine, will have
an approximate 75-minute running time and will retail for $14.98.
