EARTH - Sign With SOUTHERN LORD |

Seattle-based "ambient metal" act EARTH have inked a deal with Southern
Lord Records. EARTH have long been one of the primary influences of many
Southern Lord artists, including the inspiration of the formation, sound,
theory, and execution of SUNN O))). Over the last decade, EARTH have had
a mysterious and abstruse career. Despite a multitude of entanglements,
EARTH released four classic albums on Sub Pop Records in the early-to-mid-Nineties.
They have left their own unique stamp on modern music and are without question
one of the forefathers of drone music.
EARTH, featuring group founder Dylan Carlson (guitar) and Adrienne Davies (percussion), will enter the studio in January 2005 to record their first new studio album in nine years. A spring 2005 release is expected. | ||
