SOIL - Sign With DRT ENTERTAINMENT
|
|
Chicago's SOIL have signed an exclusive recording deal with New York-based
DRT Entertainment. The band will head to Los Angeles next month to begin
recording their new album, which is currently slated for release in early
2006. Ulrich Wild (STATIC-X, TAPROOT) has been tapped as producer.
"It is great to finally be on a label that has other rock acts," said guitarist
Shaun Glass in a statement. "With a new singer and new record label, we
feel like we have a clean slate to start from and truly make this new album
something to be proud of," added bassist Tim King.
"I am very proud that SOIL has become a new member of the DRT family," said
DRT co-principal Derek Shulman in a statement. "They are one of the most
motivated and dedicated rock bands I have ever been involved in. SOIL will
be a cornerstone band on the roster and we look forward to much success
for the new album early next year."
SOIL's follow-up to last year's "Redefine" will be the group's first CD
to feature singer AJ Cavalier, who previously fronted the California-based
DIESEL MACHINE (also featuring ex-DAMAGEPLAN frontman Patrick Lachman on
guitar). The band's original vocalist, Ryan McCombs, has since joined the
Texas act DROWNING POOL.
